At The Junction Of Nature, Adornment And Materiality; Embrace.
At the joint of the connecting embrace, materials, and the access thereof, becomes nature, and human dependent. Mining for materials drifts into the environment around me. The main source of material being design. Designs comes at the moment when material arrives at the table of Transformation.

The Melody of the Soul Is Liberated Through The Adornment Of the Body.

A GLANCE AT MY VIEWS
01.
I am Artist Jiivanii RedMarks
I was born in Jamaica and toddled around Mona Heights in Kingston, where I remained for 98% of my life, I currently reside in Florida. Though I was not born in Kingston, Kingston is my cradle and life experiences.
Though; Kingston was not totally the incubator of who I am today. I have traveled, and was educated outside of Jamaica, namely; Venezuela, Curacao, France, Germany, Spain, and The Netherlands.
The richness and complexity of my work is influenced by the many trained skillsets that I have, and the exposure traveling and learning added to expand my visual, spiritual and intellectual vocabulary, all of which is infused into the signature of each piece of wearable Art.
02.
Relationship with Adornment
I have a love hate relationship with clothing, which is a form of Jewellery that fits into the category of Adornment.
As young adult I felt that clothing serves only to hide and shame the body, rather than to beautify, or embellish it. I for one most often prefer to go without clothes, however; I love shoes, and would shop for Jewelry every single Saturday of the Month. I think that, my insatiable desire for Jewelry came from all four of my ancestral past. As an African woman, I was never comfortable in clothes and so I decided that if I must wear it, it must be special. I began wearing custom/bespoke clothing from the age of 13, where I was designing, and having my clothing, and hats bespoke.
03.
Philosophy of Contemporary Art Jewellery
Jewelry is a form of kinetic tattoo, a Coat of Arms of cultural distinction and stature, a utilitarian art form, and a story-telling Totem of Identity.
Within the bounds of Art Jewellery, stories are dissected, and contemplated for discussions on cultural norms and the human condition. Also, art jewellery inhabits and communicates educational and political structures. In the disciplines of math, science, medicine, astronomy, and the esoteric, its function and importance are documented historical knowledge.
Contemporary Art Jewellery gives an account of our lives. Those who collect art Jewellery accumulate not only storybooks and Totems; they also accumulate the energetic values and vibrations of makers, along with their ancestral past, present, and future.

Artistic Statement Of Purpose
I cater to the confident mind, one who challenge concepts of self adornment, and self representation. My aim is to assist my client to liberate the personality of the High-self (Soul). Thus inciting a more confident, individualistic, and Totemic Human. To see, and have a Human being a Sovereign Statehood of visual representation through my work as a jewellery Designer, Maker and Curator.
The Soul needs its own voice and wardrobe of exaltation.
